I never understand why the NWS forecasts too large a diurnal temperature range when we have full could cover and rain......dont see how we go from upper 40s to low 30s back to mid 40s while it's raining off and on the whole time.......unless the front backs up over us and then moves again.

Moisture will begin to return over the region Thursday and Friday leading to additional rain chances. As moderate to heavy rain begins to fall it could help to cool the atmosphere leading to a mix of rain and snow showers. At this time the best chance for a mix of rain and snow is Thursday night into Friday morning but it could start earlier. It is still too early to determine if any accumulation occurs.
An even stronger cold front is expected to move through the area Friday evening bringing freezing temperatures to the region Friday and Saturday nights along with wind chill temperatures in the low to mid 20s for some areas.
