I'm leaving tomorrow for a cousin's funeral in the UP of Michigan for a week, so the 5 day is looking ok for me. The last thing that I would want is to be stuck up there and leave DH to deal with all the animals, yard prep, etc., to handle by himself!

While we are bored with the 2019 season thus far, take a look at 1907 and 1914 on Wikipedia. Amazing amount of nothing. Then the next year in 1915 Cat 4 plows into Grand Isle with the eye passing directly over New Orleans. I say it every year but an eye of a MAJOR storm has not come directly over the city since then! No......Betsy’s eye went to the SW of the city regardless of the tales and folklore. Unfortunately the city was hammered and flooded by the NE quadrant. Could this wind up being a bust season? Way way too early for that.
Maybe around September some action will happen. Notice all that train of lows at the bottom? At this time the projection is for all of them to either die at the Yucatan or head towards the Pacific. If that pattern changes, we could be busy.
