Definitely weak development possible over the stalled trough over the NE GOM by the end of the week but just like Barry both the 18z GFS and Euro show northerly shear & dry continental air to affect the system by the weekend as the stacked death ridge retrogrades back to the SW US.
GFS has been persistent that the system to really watch is a tropical wave coming out Africa today which will blossom when it gets into the western basin as UL conditions improve by then, if correct.
