I'm a Republican. The Bush Admin. hasn't been free of flaw. What past admin. has? What I am in favor of is keeping our country strong. A recession will come, but prudent steps are being taken to take some of the ouch out of it. I personally don't care if Feds want to eavesdrop on any person in the US or abroad to thwart another terrorist attack against our Homeland, or anywhere else for that matter. Invading Iraq has cost thousands of lives, but I still support the regime change. Suddam was a butcher, even w/o WMD, Iraq is on its painful way to freedom, and a beacon for the rest of the Arab states. People want to be free. I'm quite happy with mine.Whatever, whoever it takes for we and our children to have our freedom that some may be taking for granted. The world now is a much more dangerous place than 25 years ago. I support the Bush Administration. As far as character is concerned, the President and First Lady Laura Bush have restored decency to the White House absent for the previous eight years. Scandals, lies, cover ups. About the worst thing in the Bush Ad. that occurred was Attorney General Gonzales stepping out of line. And was urged to step down, which he did. And the leak of a CIA operatives' identity, which was also resolved to some extent. NO SCANDALOUS BEHAVIOR has been tolerated by George W. Bush. I'm also for gun ownership. Guns don't kill people. You can use an iron skillet, knife, hammer, rolling pin, etc. for same result. People kill people. I'm not trying to provoke anyone, just stating my opinion.
Tracker, I understand the argument that people kill people, but how many people in the US last year were killed with iron skillets, knives, hammers, rolling pins, etc. compared to the number of people killed with guns? I know lots of people share your opinion...my dad's one of them, but I happen to feel differently. I think it would be much more difficult to kill someone else when you have to get dirty and personal enough to beat them to death, stab them to death, etc. as opposed to simply pulling a trigger from a distance. I don't think we have to take all the rifles away from hunters, but handguns? Who needs em?
People that aren't hunters. The unarmed folks. The Police when summoned take 5-10 minutes to respond, depending on area. Better to be able to defend yourself if necessary, wouldn't you agree? Now a days, the criminals shoot to kill eliminating the victim. I wouldn't want to stare down the barrel of a gun because I refused to own one.
