2008 GCWX FALL PICNIC

Lafreniere Park - Metairie, LA.

The staff had a meeting to discuss the picnic. The fall season is a very busy season for just about all of the local weather celebrities. I'm still waiting to hear back from one potential guest, however as of this morning, it's looking like that guest cannot take off that day either. If we don't have a guest, we're still going to have a great time. We'll have a short session on what you members think we could do better for next hurricane season, or any opinions in general. Also if you have any weather related questions, one of the staff members would try their best to answer it.
As for food, we're keeping it simple. We don't want to bog anyone down to BBQ because that would be an all day task. As far as catering the event, it's very expensive, and we had a hard time finding someone. Therefore, we're going to keep it simple. We're going to have lots of pizza and Cane's chicken fingers. We'll also have cookies and a few sweets. If anyone has anything special they'd like to bring, feel free to do so. I'm sure everyone would enjoy it
We figured most, if not all people, like pizza and Cane's.For drinks, everyone bring their own little ice chest with what you want to drink. The picnic area does have a nice shelter as you can see below, however still feel free to bring your lawn chairs and such.
We will also have a radio to listen to the Saints game. None of the staff members have an available TV so if some one wants to bring a TV, feel free to do so, but please respond in this thread saying you'll bring it. The game is on FOX 8 so all we'd need is a set of rabbit ears.
We will also have a jumper for the kids this time!
....and everyone knows we'll have volleyball ;D We'll have 1 net for sure, but possibly 2.
Right now we're looking at appx 75 people, but it's not too late! If you think you can come, let us know. Even though it's a last minute decision on that Sunday morning, please come to the park and enjoy the day with us!!! When you arrive at the picnic, check with one of the staff members and we'll give you a name tag so others will be able to recognize you.
