A few points and a little heads up to our esteemed GCWX community...
A few weeks ago, we had an attempt of "interference" so to speak on GCWX and its members. This interference was by someone who has become known as a headache in the weather community. Over the past few years, many websites have had problems with this individual. This individual also has his own website. Even many of his own members have complained to the weather world of his doings. Some of the complaints even have to do with him breaking privacy rules through his own website. While he was a member here, we gave him ample opportunity to become part of our community, even though we have proof of him taking posts, forecasts, and images from GCWX and using it on his own website. No harm was done in that. When he decided to not comply with GCWX rules, and completely disregarded PMs from the GCWX staff, he got banned and removed from GCWX.
Over the past few years that GCWX has been in existence, only TWO people have ever gotten banned. One of them is actually a member here again. The other is the individual we're referring to.
He has even gone to the extent of actually attempting to pull members from this site. Another low ball this individual has made is calling out GCWX staff members and publicly calling us "nazis". This is utter and complete disrespect, and we will not tolerate this. You all know what's true and what's not, so we're not concerned with that. We're just pointing a few of the idiotic moves this person has made recently.
GCWX has grown far beyond we've expected this past hurricane season. Even through the slower seasons like winter, we have become quite reliable to many gulf coast residents. This has put a strain on this individual, and he may do what ever it takes to slow the success of GCWX. We want to assure you we have the right people in the right place ready to take action if it becomes necessary. GCWX will continue to grow in 2009 just like it has in the past few years.
Thank You Members for being loyal to us and making Gulf Coast Weather one of the best, most informative, and most reliable weather communities online.
