Looking back to this winter that just ended here in Baton Rouge, what a winter it was. Two sneauxs in one season. What a rare treat that was. And another early December sneaux with several inches. Sneaux storms like that are rare down here even for January and February. And the second event in January. Temps started out at freezing around noon before precip came in. Temperature dropped all afternoon with wintry precip starting here around 6 pm. Only time I have seen sneaux and 23 degrees. and then a switch to sleet and 22 degrees as the precip ended. Woke up to 14 degrees. Most wintry precip events occur within a couple degrees of freezing and the precip usually moves out as you drop below 30. Yes it was something. And sneaux in Grand Isle and Buras. We could see a similar event next season as easily as it might not occur again for decades. Now onto this wet cool spring and what will the tropics bring?
