So true. We came very close to taking the kayak down the Bogue Chitto. I guess I forgot that every time it rains we run under the picnic pavilion and wait it out with the other hundred people. Lightning + kayaking + COVID??? Probably not a good idea....

* Until 630 PM CDT.
* At 319 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Hattiesburg, Petal, West Hattiesburg, Purvis, Lumberton, Pine Ridge, Oak Grove, Rock Hill, Rawls Springs, Mclaurin, Sunrise, Baxterville and Macedonia.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
