This is very unique situation in that the core of Olga is tropical with the cold front just 20-25 miles away from its LLC, as long as the LLC remains in a warm section it will remain tropical over the next few hours.
I'm sure the insurance companies appreciate it being named.
I was just saying that too. If there are damages you can be assured of law suits to question the classification. It's funny how we continue to elect the same insurance commissioner that allowed this to begin with - the unreasonable hurricane deductibles.

Its just so unusual to have tropical storm 4 hours off the coast and there's not a warning anywhere. Can you ever recall such a situation?
Guess all the really bad weather is all to our east. Alabama had multiple tornados. We didnt get much here in Thibodaux. It isnt even raining anymore and skies look to be clearing.

So a tropical storm moving in around Morgan city, just to our west in just A few hours, this is some Strange weather, no wind, no rain . But lots blood sucking bugs.

What can we expect tonight? I’m in Mandeville and, for the first time in forever, I feel I have no clue what the situation is or is expected to become.

Olga is post-tropical now and the max winds just shot up 10 knots.
I've never really understood the different characteristics of tropical and post-tropical other than tropical is a warm core and post-tropical is a cold core. I'd like to know if the wind speed increase was an effect of this change or if Olga was simply strengthening as the LLC got into the cold side of the front.
