Just some observations from south Mobile: Had a few passing showers early this afternoon, but nothing much since about 2:00. Had some very brief peeks of sun early this afternoon, but the overcast has been here all day along with the wind.
Same in New Orleans but no rain here. Very windy out there right now, but gladly missing all the severe stuff north of here.
Glad to be missing it as well. The severe stuff anyway. Could use a good shower. It has only been breezy in Thibodaux. Barely even drizzled. People are still riding bikes outside.

I mentioned earlier I didn’t see really much of any sun besides a very few moments around 1:00. I know there is more to this storm system than daytime heating, but am glad to see the sun go down now. Hopefully this thing won’t be real bad when it comes through later tonight. Still watching

Also need to mention this. I have a friend who is a music pastor at a Baptist church in Seminary, MS. Just checked on him through Facebook and he says he’s okay. There are a couple members of his church who have suffered damage and they’re getting help.

Agreed. Only .03 so far. Did take a look at the GFS and it has a system showing up about every 7days through April. Shows some severe possibilities to my eyes. SE LA really needing the rain now for this drought. But not classically all at once in this changing climate.

The big forcing is here now and you can see it organizing the southern end into a nasty linear system. Bet you'll get some rough weather over in my hometown tonight.
The National Weather Service out of New Orleans rated its first EF4 since 1983. The part of the big tornado that went through Walthall County was upgraded to an EF4 with winds of 170mph.
