That mess under the LA coast has more convection than Beta itself.

Has Beta made landfall yet?

The Texas Storm Chasers reporteD that it did, near Matagorda, TX about an hour ago? Can anyone else confirm?

Beta is weakening, the threat for SE LA appears to be less intense. Texas getting some rainfall and one of the docks in Galveston has taken quite a beating.

Another strange pinkish look to cloudy sunset. Perhaps our
system mixing some wildfire smoke. kind of weird. same last night.

I'll have to put the pirogue up again, lol!

I started getting special marine warnings about an hour ago on myradar app, and ever since then, it's ramped back up here where I'm at.  It's back like it was the first 48 hrs.  
I haven't gone out with the hand held wind gauge to clock it, (I've about had enough of dealing with that stinging rain.  The novelty of it wore off... 2 days ago.), but it's 
absolutely screaming.    

For those that didn't read the wind speeds I posted about over the past few days, I'm about 30 miles +/- SSE of Fourchon.  Friday night through Sunday night, we were getting nothing less than 50+ mph winds.  Most of that time we were getting constant 60+ mph winds with gusts well over 70 mph.  Some of the biggest and most violent waves I've ever witnessed. Today has been much calmer, and it's been blowing like a winter time blue northern.  But compared to the first two days, it was plumb chill and relaxed.  lol.  

The one thing that hasn't changed throughout is the rain.  It has been an unbelievable amount of rain.  (the whole yard is flooded far as you can see in all directions, lol).  I watch the radar, and it just keeps building and building.  I click on future radar, and it always shows that blob moving out some kind of way.  Blowing off to the east, sliding to the west following beta, and a few times even moving up onto land.  I know "future radars" are not very accurate, just an idea of what's to come.  Regardless... it's been wrong.  That blob has not moved, and for the past hour and some change, it's gone haywire.
