Got a couple of inches off the storm last night, and was snowing sub-zero for most of the morning. Temp got to the 20s but that's it. Did some grilling in the cold. Brightside? Beer keeps getting colder. Downside, well all the rest of it.

We've stayed mostly in the single digits the past couple days. I was going to grill but I figured I wouldn't be able to regulate the temperature.

I was just finishing on the grill. Braised some country style ribs and threw a little apple glaze on em before grilling to get tasty. It would have been tough to do actual cooking on it.
You've been colder than me lately. Had one -10 morning after a big snow (the wind was blowing, misery) but otherwise falling into single digits and rising into the low 30s.
Got a hell of a snow burst this afternoon. Dropped an inch pretty quickly. Then nothing. Probably have snow get going again soon though with yet another disturbance blowing in.

It's been a while since I've dropped in. Weather has been pretty meh out here. Warming up recently and not much snow. The melt is on at my elevation. It's slushy and muddy. Spring in Louisiana > high elevations of CO.
But winter isn't quite done yet. A big slow cutoff low is going to meander through here this weekend and then have another trough bring the whitewalkers with it (very cold air) early next week. Been holding off on skiing bc covid but with both the GFS and Euro having 17" of snow for Leadville in the next ten days...looks like a skiing week is upcoming.
Yeah looks like they are pretty bullish on you getting a few days of snow.
You need to play with you phone video app or download one that does timelapse. Or a DSLR that does.
Spring brings the biggest snows in Colorado to the high plains and front range but in the intermountain region where you are I don't know...
I'm actually working on a big project pulling snowfall data for locations in the central mountains and running some stats. Already getting pretty good with python but early going of the data dive. Feb and Mar appear to bring the most snow. March for the biggest snows, with some late Oct/Nov storms also pushing big numbers. There's actually some moisture around is what makes the difference. I'll share some graphs and charts once I get farther along.
I'm working on it. My FIL has a fancy camera that I'm sure can do whatever I'm going to need. Saturday through Sat Night has 0.5" liquid falling, which is absolutely tremendous for these parts. Quick foot of snow on both Euro and GFS. That would be cool to capture.
The work is free, but for my enjoyment and to get programming on my resume. Plus, I want to be in the mountains full time, so getting some geographical knowledge of the area won't hurt that for either grad school or an actual forecasting gig.
