I absolutely LOVE the first cold front of autumn here in Southeast LA. Seeing the azure deep blue skies, with a few feathery cirrus clouds streaming high overhead. Feeling the cool breezes pulsing past, smelling that crisp, dry autumnal rarified air. All the wait through 6 months of sweat, humidity, burning heat, annoying insects, and the like... it all becomes worth it for the glory of the new season roaring in!

My AcuRite Five in One, bit the dust in Ida. Wind gauge already didn't work well, and the rain gauge gave it up. I tried taking it apart, to see if I could get the rain part working again, and the entire thing stopped transmitting. To be fair, it was several years old. I went ahead and ordered an Atlas, should receive it today.

Got my new weather station yesterday, no problem setting it up. Temp got down to 52.9º this morning. My only small glitch, is that my base isn't receiving a good signal in my office, I had to move it to the living room ( a few feet away). I may try to move it around the office some today, to see if it will pick up the signal better in a certain spot. I know, such a trivial first world problem, with so many going through so much.

thermalwind, that's some gorgeous country! Our trip to the Smokies this summer made me realize I couldn't live in the mountains (too much anxiety up and down the steep, winding mountain roads), but I can sure appreciate their beauty.
