As expected those sAme storms that popped on radar went severe. That shows you why the NWS has us under an elevated threat. It wasn't very long from the first radar return to tornado warning for those storms crossing north of BR.

* Until 245 PM CDT.
* At 203 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Whitehall, or 14 miles northeast of Gonzales, moving north at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.
* This dangerous storm will be near... Springfield around 225 PM CDT. Albany around 235 PM CDT. Natalbany around 245 PM CDT.
Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Killian and Tickfaw.
This includes the following Interstates... Interstate 12 between mile markers 26 and 38. Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 30 and 38.

Seems like you could draw a line up I-10/12 every time there is a situation like this. Storms always seem to blow up when they hit that invisible boundary.
