Wonder if a weak N wind and sinking air is compressing more in your neighborhood because of the levee acting as a shallow barrier. Would be totally different in a S wind as you would be cooler than us. Interesting two days at your place. I’m sure there is more to it but I believe your temps. More to come for sure.
Oh, now we gonna do the weather for all the valleys and the mountain tops. Gonna be hot - about 200 degrees in Merced, 400 degrees out in Fresno, and I know we're gonna have about 500 degrees up around the valley there somewhere. You got the Wolfman Jack Show!

For those who are fans.......I'd go for some Wind chill Factor Minus Zero about now....because 'most killing is committed at 90 degrees when it's too hot to think and it's too hot to breath'.
Of course in England 90° is just about unheard of, so that's our 100.....
Haven’t had any rain at all here in Daytona beach and we been here since Saturday afternoon. Briefly started thundering here after dinner, looking like it was going to storm. The pools got shut down but still never rained more than a few drops. Found out from my cousin who lives on our street back in Thibodaux, our power went out for 2 hours this morning.

Glad you're having fun at Daytona! You deserve it.
Speaking of no rain, last week my lawn looked pristine. Today I noticed it's starting to dry out. I mean, no biggie in the grand scheme of things. It's a British invention anyway.

I been worried about the pool pump being kicked back on with loss of power. We have it on a set timer. Last June we went to Orange beach and power went out at home. And we came back to a swamp green pool!

I know I’m not a kid anymore and getting older, but this heat has just felt more intense this summer. Just pumping gas last night I could feel the heat hitting my face off of the concrete. I’ve never wanted a cloud day so much in my life.
