Heavy rain over me now. Line looks to be moving rather slowly so could get lots of precip. I live roughly halfway between Picayune and Bogalusa, in Pearl River County.

For the life of me, I cannot understand how people are so upset when bad weather forecast doesn't come to fruition......Its the weirdest thing.... To tell someone that stray bullets may come in this direction, so it's best to move to a safer place...Is kind of the same with Mets are tracking severe weather potential....This is a venting post from reading some of the comments under Zach's earlier post..... Idk, People will be people I guess🤷🏾

I guess you are refering to his FB?
Pointless to read negative comments of any kind IMO.
I'm glad I'm not in the public eye.
Understanding science and the complexity of earth's weather unfortunately is not common knowledge to say the least.
Many stay in their homes for fear of any possible bad weather...many aren't even aware of the possibility.
I've grown to accept whatever happens because I have no control over it anyway (unfortunately I don't have a cloud seeding airplane to fly over my house in winter!).
It will never be anyones fault for a forecast that doesn't verify if you don't have unrealistic expectations of what a forecast means....but, again, that comes with some basic knowledge of science...which it seems we as a whole lack badly.
Wiggins, MS is in the midst of the line of thunderstorms now, the way its moving seems like we'll be in it for a while; also doesn't seem to be weakening much. I live in an old converted commercial building and I don't usually hear the rain, but I'm hearing this. Worried they extended the tornado watch until noon....

He had awesome comebacks, though!! Scot Pile, too!

I will take a forecast on the safe side any day. If it doesn't come to fruitation then that's a yay for us.
Is it my imagination or is everything to the sw clearing out? So why the extension on the tornado watch until noon? I must not be seeing the entire picture.

I don’t think anybody is upset that we didn’t get severe weather. Personally, I’m just really damn tired of them hyping every single severe setup as though it’s going to be just so terrible only to have nothing happen.
Say “hey heads up… we could be in store for some rocky weather. Probably best to keep an ear out for warnings because you just never know” instead of stupid crap like “OMG we are in a hatched area and that hardly ever happens for south Louisiana… last time we had tornadoes we were hatched!!!”. The hyping up of every system that comes our way is what people are tired of and what people mock now.
It’s springtime — any adult with their head anywhere other than up their own ass knows the potential for severe weather exists with every system that comes through. No need to hype it up.
Sorry for all the profanity. I’m just really tired of the hyped up stuff only to have nothing happen. I could’ve spread my weed & feed yesterday but I didn’t because I was told we were getting terrible weather so I was afraid of it all washing away. Ended up getting the perfect amount of rain to soak it in instead. I should’ve known, though. The dew point yesterday hovered in the mid 40’s. No way we were gonna get severe weather.
