Pats' Historic Game Available Nationwide
CBS, NBC To Simulcast Patriots-Giants Game

NEW YORK -- When Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the rest of the Patriots take on the Giants on Saturday night with a chance to become the first team ever to finish a regular season 16-0, the game will be available on CBS and NBC, in addition to its scheduled airing on the NFL Network.
The National Football League announced Wednesday that it has arranged for the networks to air an unprecedented three-way simulcast for the monumental game. If not for Wednesday's action, the game would have been available only on the NFL Network, except in the New York and Boston metropolitan areas, where it would have been shown on local stations.
"We have taken this extraordinary step because it is in the best interest of our fans," said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. "What we have seen for the past year is a very strong consumer demand for NFL Network. We appreciate CBS and NBC delivering the NFL Network telecast on Saturday night to the broad audience that deserves to see this potentially historic game. Our commitment to the NFL Network is stronger than ever."
Television coverage of the game between the 15-0 Patriots and the 10-5 Giants will start at 8 p.m. EST. Kickoff at Giants Stadium is slated for 8:15 p.m. A Patriots win will link them with the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the last NFL team to complete a regular season without a loss. Those Dolphins won three more games, including Super Bowl VII, to finish 17-0.
In addition to the perfect season, a number of offensive records are on the line for the Pats. They need six points to surpass the 1998 Minnesota Vikings (556) as the highest scoring team in league history. Brady is one passing touchdown shy of Peyton Manning's record of 49, set in 2004, and wide receiver Randy Moss is one behind Jerry Rice's record of 22 TD receptions in a season, set in 1987.
This will be first simulcast of any kind of an NFL game since Super Bowl I, which aired on both CBS and NBC on Jan. 15, 1967.
