A while back, our member ke5jzm posted a link to wxspots.com. What it is, is a free software application to report weather conditions. It doesn't even have to be severe. You can post your current weather conditions at any time. Over the past few months, it has grown quite a bit. I now keep it open at all times when I'm logged onto the internet.
Some NWS Offices also use it to get their storm reports. Many emergency response centers use it to relay storm information and/or damage reports. Yesterday it was quite busy with the severe outbreak across GA and SC. It's just an extra tool to see storm reports, and report your own data.
Here's a screenshot:
Many thanks to ke5jzm for bringing it to my attention a while back.
Give it a try! The more people we can get on it, the more useful it'll become!

I'm bumping this from a long time ago. Yes, I still use WxSpots. Recently, a new feature was just added. If you have a personal weather station online, once set up, WxSpots will automatically pull data from your station every minute and put it into the WxSpots software. It's pretty cool.
I was looking for any fellow observers from LA who'd be willing to take part in WxSpots again. I'm on it as long as my laptop is powered up (sort of like how I'm always logged on here). There's a neat chat session built into it also, and you can chat with fellow observers from across the country. The developer has some nice features planned, but we have to get it used more before new features are added.
So if you're always online, download WxSpots and WxWarn, and keep it opened in your task tray!
