I think that the models will just continue to move back and forth for a little while, especially until Gus gets going good and gets past these islands. Hopefully, tomorrow will be the day we have a better idea, but my gut still tells me Morgan City.

This change in forecast track is making me nervous over here in Houston, especially the turn west at or near landfall and possible slow down in movement. A hurricane Fay over SW LA and SE TX could mean big problems over here.
Bob Breck mentioned a few minutes ago that it looked to him like the trough was digging down deeper tonight which was not something he expected. He said the possibility is that this could cause the storm to turn north quicker and shift the track back towards the east.
Does anyone else see this?
I think he meant that more in the case of increased wind shear and also he stated the fact it could bring it more north directly into us.
Vortex, if you extrapolate the wind fields out with this map, you can see hurricane force winds will be almost over us. This is from the NHC's size forecast.
