* Until 815 AM CDT Thursday

* At 1115 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated most of the heavy rain had
moved south of the flood area. However...the warned areas have
seen radar estimated rainfall amounts and recorded rain gauge
amounts of 6 to 12 inches today creating dangerous night time
flooding conditions. The flood warning will continue into Thursday
morning until the flood waters recede.

* Some locations that are experiencing flooding include...
Lafayette, Lake Charles, New Iberia, Sulphur, Crowley, Morgan City,
Abbeville, Catahoula, Eunice, Jennings, Scott, Breaux Bridge,
Rayne, Franklin, Carencro, St. Martinville, Patterson, Jeanerette,
Kaplan and Westlake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

What just came through Patterson, AGAIN, was not nice! I was a little surprised we didn't have some warning going off. The Weather Channel app showed the high wind & tornado cones on the radar around 11:00 pm? maybe later and I believe it! I heard all kinds of stuff flying and saw a tree nearly on the ground from the winds. Today has been harrowing! I have not seen the weather this bad for this duration in Patterson since I have been in this house, 2008. I literally had minutes to get to my mom's when the first tornado warning went off at noon and get her back to my house! I shot some video of the skyline on my way there. I either missed it or it missed me crossing Hwy 182 at the airport. Hail fell several times today. My rain gauge in the front is overflowing now. It was at 6" about 4:30 p.m. Hopefully it is going to chill out with those temperatures dropping! Who knows?
