TROPICAL DEPRESSION FLORENCE Discussion Thread

Can someone help me out? My daughter is due to have her baby in two days, she lives in Hampton, Va. What should she do? Will Florence affect her area? I told her she should get emitted to the hospital before the wx goes downhill. I’m worried bc I don’t want to go in labor and no medical personnel can reach her to help her.

Thanks Sky and Row!! This is what I thought, she needs to get emitted bc it looks like her area will be near/ and or close to the northeast quadrant of the storm. She won’t be able to be reached.

IS There a model showing the projected wind speed as it comes inland? How far out from the center are ts force winds?

Looks like it has expanded in size after what appears to be an ERC.

If referring to the graphic I posted, no, that's just the end of the forecast period for the wind swath.

Charlotte as of right now looks to get up to TS force wind gusts with a potential for a good bit of rain --- not epic, but a good bit. That said, slight variations in the path today could change that forecast to hurricane force winds and 10+" of rain. And as it noted below, other models paint a worse picture than I have presented here .... Follow wxbrad on Twitter for information on Charlotte.
