we got a tornado warning for Jackson County MS about 45 minutes ago, radar warned, but it was never confirmed and no damage reports of yet..

First vis satellite loop clear shows landfall over Vermillion Bay south of Lafayette/New Iberia this morning. The Euro nailed it, it fairly persistent many times in this area for a number of runs. UKMET was only something like 200 miles west of it, lol. Even the ICON had it in this area for a number of runs.

I know there are several people in this forum from St Charles Parish and were talking about power outages earlier. ICYMI here’s an update from sheriff Greg Champagne on FB this morning:

Morning Report- Barry

Serious Weather not over- bands of possible heavy wind and rain will be reaching us from the south in next few hours.

Damage Overnight/
So far, as a result of the wind gust, we have power poles down and power outages on Westbank in AMA, Luling, and Hahnville, mostly around La 18 area. A tree fell of a house in Boutte Estates Dr. Pole down on E. Harding, with power outage there. Power out at Riverbend in St Rose. 28 people currently checked in at the shelter at Community Center.

Below is a more detailed list from regarding the down power lines:

Power Lines

196 School House Rd, Killona, tree fell on line

11079 La 18 Ama near ADM, 3 poles down blocking one lane. Two marked units working that section.

906 E. Harding St. near US 61, pole down crossing E. Harding. Two marked units working that section.

136 Janet Dr. St. Rose, pole down in the back yard of residence.

Power Outage

East Bank:

E Harding/ E Hoover/ Lorraine st

West Bank:

All of Ama/ Barton/ Sugarhouse to the tracks/ St Anthony St.

Bethlehem to Fashion & S Fashion/ Beaupre from Cottage to Augusta

Flooded Roads

High water in area of 3071 Bayou Gauche Rd, but it’s still drivable. They had some minor street flooding in Bayou Gauche area at time, but as of now that has subsided for now.

gotta give credit to the ICON as well, it pretty much had this location pin pointed even before the EURO as I recall, and never really deviated from it... that models stock should go up quite a bit after this performance... UKMET was probably one of the worse this time around...
