No one is going to make you leave even if it's mandatory. Social science studies shows that deliberate wording in such statements influences people to think. If they think they HAVE TO LEAVE then hopefully they will. You don't have to BUT yes if you choose to stay you risk not being rescued if needed or risk endangering first responders lives if they attempt a rescue. Bottom line, you're entitled to stay but be prepared to accept any consequences.

I'm still seeing a due west motion. It will turn north eventually. Forecast is to start that turn in ernest early Tuesday. The actual turn, I mean.

The government "orders" people to leave because it's their emergency services that are going to be called upon to save those that think they will be able to stay behind. Yes, I understood this for Betsy when I was in 6th grade. I'm not looking to be rescued. I want to be left alone and not be given stupid orders
