Hopefully the Gulfstream IV research jet will visit areas in front of both systems. Quite a debate about the significance of data from commercial aircraft and cruise ships. GFS has struggled long before the pandemic this year per some experts. There are still thousands of reports from ships and aircraft daily. Imo it really isn’t that much of an issue.

The GFS-P is still VERY bullish on development with 97L, as a 959mb hurricane making landfall in SELA...5 days from now.

And then #2 basically falling in line behind? Hopefully #2 will just be some rain and a nice breeze as we start rebuilding after #1.

Seriously, I know it and so does everyone else. When it comes specifically to LA and our many coastal and 2020 challenges, this has all the writing of a serious situation. There just is nothing positive about a boiling untouched central Gulf. I pray the models are onto somethings in the atmosphere that will negate real developments. Two storms may work against each other if proximal enough. I find it hard to believe two storms could both be well established within a day or so of each other. Once NHC locks onto a track these days it’s a done deal within 3-4 days. Just need a center. I think nowcasting will become very important with these two when following intensity. I have very little faith this season with intensity modeling.
