It also shows the low strengthening after landfall. Weird. Landfall pressure is 1001 and it deepens to 995 over the BR general area. Almost no wind, though. This will be all rain. 

Only along the immediate coastline. Any area more than 10-20 miles inland will see minimal wind, if any at all, according to this run.

Here's the 6-hour MAXIMUM wind gust potential. These are the highest numbers I see in the EURO run. Any model that indicates almost tropical storm-force wind gusts in Monroe from a minimal/moderate tropical storm at landfall is not going to raise my eyebrows. Again, we're talking the MAXIMUM wind gust potential here. It shows Slidell with 55mph potential -- I'd be surprised if they get 35 mph gusts to be honest. Most of us have lived here long enough and have been through enough of these things to know full well that what models show and what really happens is usually very different unless you happen to be at ground zero of a landfalling hurricane. I think the EURO is being aggressive here unless it's leaving room for some type of June rapid intensification, which would be very very rare. 

In other words, I don't believe it. 



The rainfall outlook on this EURO run also isn't too terribly bad for the BR area though it's iffy for NOLA and points northward in my opinion. Again, this will all change so many times between now and "landfall" but as of now, this is what it looks like.

I learned my lesson two years ago to never say it’s a rain storm even for tropical storms.

Olga taught me that lesson. If a convective burst develops right before landfall then those 50-60 mph gusts can do a number on power grids.
