I actually had a dream last night that two major hurricanes hit us at the same time. I was hunkered down watching out the window from my hallway with the radar on my phone. The tiny eye of the major hurricane was finally exiting the Ascension area when suddenly a second tiny eye of another one started barreling right for us again. Two majors within an hour of each other LOL! Hopefully I didn’t dream a premonition of this summer! Could you imagine? LOL
Umm dreams sometimes mean something. 2 weeks before Ida, I had dreams almost every night of winds howling and roofs flying off. Katrina it was April 2005, that I had a feeling of a major hurricane hitting around New Orleans. My parents booked a vacation out west and were scheduled to leave Aug 29th. I told my parents they may want to pick a different date unless they wanted to use the trip for evacuation. My mom said you are crazy, it is April, you have no way of knowing that! Here came Katrina on exact date I thought it would. For Gustav, I just started a new job, and told my coworkers that a hurricane would hit Houma around sept 3rd. It was 2 weeks out but here same Gustav.
So far no dreams or feelings and pray it stays that way.

This year’s names:
Alex Bonnie Colin Danielle Earl Fiona Gaston Hermine Ian Julia Karl Lisa Martin Nicole Owen Paula Richard Shary Tobias Virginie Walter
I’m predicting that Ian, Julia, Karl will be a major run then Paula will be a late season threat. Ian will give the gulf coast a scare but will go into Mexico. Fiona will be a major flood threat and Gaston will just mosey around the Atlantic with his mustache and smoking a cigar until he fizzles out.
Roofers are doing our new roof today! Yay! And then the rest of our repairs to follow. And got a new pool too! So hope to only track from afar this year and many years to come.

I listened to David Bernard's podcast with Zack and Gary Lezak discussing the LRC for something like the 5th time today. Such an interesting hypothesis! Wondering if (when?) Zack will offer some insight to this year's storm season based on his LRC research.
There is a thread on the hypothesis around here somewhere but I can't seem to find it, so figured posting here would work.

I want to say he posted about the LRC and hurricane season in another thread. I got the hint he didn’t want to post any “projections” and signals this year since this is his first time really going through and following it.
I also imagine he wouldn’t want to post too much about it since anything he does put out there can easily be misconstrued from “there’s a signal for Florida at the end of September” to “Zack Fradella says major hurricane to hit Florida in September.” Just sounds like some BS he wouldn’t want to have to deal with and I don’t blame him. Lol
The CFSv2 forecast for Nino 3.4 (as of March 7th) is showing that we will still have La Nina for the heart of the 2022 hurricane season. Also the ECMWF Seasonal Forecast of the ACE for 2022 season is showing 120% which is above normal. Both early indicators of another busy hurricane season.

At this point I’m a pro at weathering the storm so I say bring it on!
Just saw the graphics for crown weather, and see that SE Louisiana is in the high risk zone yet again. I guess if I survived Ida, I can survive anything and now we have a camper if we sustain damages. But praying for a much needed break for everyone on the gulf coast.

My family, friends and neighbors have had enough. Ida was the real deal. And we could have handled a little more. A bunch of us successfully graduated Ida Academy. Done with the fear, stress and craziness. Forever. And we’ll help anyone wanting to complete survival school. My moment of “freedom” came in the middle of Ina. I could not have done anything more for us. I found myself completely calm and actually sleepy. It’s hard to imagine any type of tropical intrusion again in this area. But nothing is normal anymore. Was in Greensburg LA for a few days this week. I still cannot believe the tree damage. It’s difficult to walk in the middle of the woods even with very little underbrush. Just constant going under or climbing over downed trees.
