HURRICANE IDALIA - Discussion Thread

It's anybody storm until a center of circulation forms and a track is set in stone.....Now i do feel confident that we will be ok...But I don't like how that westerly shift displayed in the last gfs run. ....Bob finished his blog with the statement please pay attention for any shifts to the west!.....Which the GFS clearly did just that......Bob is retired...He's allowed to make bold statements like "this will not be an Louisiana storm" 😂

And don't forget about that upper Low off to the west of the system; that could play a factor in the eventual path of the system.  If could also provide upper level support for venting of the system.  This storm could rapidly intensify once it gets over the GOM.  Those waters are bath temp. and it will be situated right over the loop current.  I got a feeling this could be a strong system if it takes its time moving northward.

Not to wish it on others, but as the Florida peninsula, I hope the current panhandle stays true.
