Hey everyone! My husband asked if I'm still a member of this forum. Lol. Of course I am! He's in the tugs and barges business from Louisiana coast to southeast Texas. He works on Galveston Bay. Anyway, with all his Intel through Noaa, USCG, etc... he still wants to know what all of my Mets and mentors are saying. Because, I love being right after quoting y'all!
Anyway, he sent me here for the latest on that low pressure about to dump rain but mainly because of gale warning and seas.
I've moved to Thibodaux now, due to illness I needed to be closer to my doctors, so I'll still have my usual posts from Patterson and St.Mary Parish because my mom is there. But now, I'll be focused on Thibodaux, Terrebone and Lafourche parishes. My son moved to North shore, so I'll be on the lookout for weather headed his way.
I basically have a family tree weather GPS and track anything close to family and friends!
I was going to vote but then I didn't see a safe choice like "none of the above!" Ha ha.
Julieo still super sleuthing tropical or severe weather. I used to be deathly afraid of weather. This forum has helped me overcome fear with common sense, knowledge is power, and follow the warnings seriously. I can make educated decisions to be safe, prepared and have a place to go if necessary.
I also like sharing local parish government information from across the areas of I see something important to pass along, not previously posted!
Missed all of you!
I work in the gulf and think its safe to say that even if storms go into north mexico or south texas, the winds and seas will increas in the northern gulf. Usually the strongest winds and storms in general will set up a good ways north amd east of the center of any early season storm. If there's a ridge over the southeast US, a southwest gulf storm can cause a wind tunnel effect.
This has been my experience for what its worth. In the gulf at least, id prefer a direct hit over a miss to the southwest.
