Finally have some new puppy pics to upload, y'all.
In five weeks, she's gone from 5.4 pounds to 17.something pounds, is teething like crazy and is a holy terror! Forget the high-falutin' name...she's being referred to as the "Land Shark," "Sharky," and "Fang." And "Cujo." Can't forget that one. And I have learned that the milled flax seed that I like to add to my morning smoothies is a VERY effective blood thinner....so now she has a taste for blood!
Also learned to carry her to the back door first thing in the morning; she can't wait while I unlock the door....maybe we'll just call her "Puddles." Though once, I tucked her under my arm like a football and rushed to the back door, and as I hurdled (okay, I'm being a little figurative here) the babygate to the kitchen, what dropped down my leg was NOT liquid. And it *didn't* bounce. Aren't babies FUN?!?
She's so sweet and cuddly and a perfect angel in public, though. I think she and my daughter are exchanging trade secrets for how to be a street angel/house demon. Or something.
More soon when I get a chance to upload some. The wind from the squall coming through last Thursday was a kick; it was the first time she'd seen that kind of wind, and she was absolutely entranced with it. Ran around in the front yard on a lunge line, grabbing dinner-plate sized sycamore leaves and bringing them to to me. It was a scream. She's also discovered the joys of dust baths, and how if you roll around in the frost enough, you can get SOAKING WET and COLD and then find dirt to roll in. Oh, the sheer JOY of it! And I'm laughing like a loon, even knowing I'm going to have to wrestle her into the tub and clean her ears.....
