In the beginning, Gulf Coast Weather derived from a small group of weather enthusiasts who were looking for more than just our local weather forum. Members mainly were from the New Orleans, and surrounding parishes. Today we now have over a thousand members, and continue to excel and grow. We now encompass the entire Gulf Coast and new memberships grow daily. GCWX has become a valuable forum that everyone can trust for all your up to the minute weather needs.
In the very near future, GCWX will be upgraded again thanks to all the hard work of our Administrators and Moderators. In the past, many of us have given donations to help keep this site add free, and to help with the expenses that are incurred while running a forum. The staff very much appreciate what has been donated already, but I wanted to bring to your attention that no new donations have been made since last hurricane season, and all funds have depleted. It normally costs approximately $21 a month to keep this forum add free during the off season, and it can run between $100 to $200 a month during hurricane season. The new upgrade to GCWX will be costly because it will be running top notch software on a top notch server. Administration and moderators have been paying for the running of this forum out of their own pocket since the funds have been depleted which as you can see can get expensive. New donations would be greatly appreciated!
