It almost seems as though the mid-level center separated from the low-level center, being shunted to the SW while the LLC continues NW. From the look of things we may see a rather large eye form once convection gets going again. The LLC looks to have been moving NW all along, it was hard to tell with the MLC masking that motion.
Does anyone know how wide the storm and how far out the TS force winds extend from the center? Trying to teach my kiddos a thing or two. Thanks!!!!
Earlier this afternoon as the recon plane was flying into the system found tropical force winds in the NW quadrant more than 200 miles from the center of Isaac, mostly do to all that convetion. I estimate that the whole system is close to 600 miles wide from W to E, but I have not seen any official numbers.

Id think if a eye appears and sustains itself they would have to upgrade....also ive seen some storms wind speeds come up a good bit once the eye is visible not saying it will happen here just ive seen it happen......
