FOR THOSE ASKING ABOUT A CLOSURE OF THE HALE BOGGS BRIDGE: We DO NOT expect the state to close the bridge at any time during Isaac. The only complete closure of the bridge we have witnessed due to weather has been related to those rare south Louisiana snow storms. IF we receive information that the bridge in fact will close at any point, we will of course post it here.

Somewhat surprised at that because it was said in previous storms that it would be shut down at some point. The SO was having to get a shelter on both sides for us.
I imagine a true "closure" could not happen since emergency services would have to pass. I also think they try to minimize traffic - less people on the road to rescue. So far so good over here- wind and rain, might go sit outside and read for a little while I can...

Yerah, i was referring to the public, obviously energency vehicles would still use it.
Doesn't official "landfall" occur when the center (defined as the area of lowest pressure) reaches shore? That point is probably located in the SW corner of the open eye feature. Looking at radar, it will take a bit longer for that point to make landfall, even though the northern part of they eye may have reached Lake Ponchartrain.
