I saw both and they were beautiful. Sky, can you guys post a closing note to the thread when a new one is started. I refreshed for 5 minutes wondering why no one was posting. ;D

We talk about storm surge and rain and wind with these. What we didn't talk about is at the moment the river really can't flow downstream and has risen 7 feet at New Orleans so far today. Of course it is worse downriver in Plaquemines. Just think if it had not been so low already. And that south wind is going to be blowing up the river for a long time if the forecast holds.

longtime lurker... wanted to pass on that on TWC Billy Nungessier is talking about Plaquemine Parish and the levees and their integrity. Water from the Mississippi is sloshing over the levees. Mr Nungessier is worried about the levees if the water continues to be trashed about by the winds. He was questioning how long the winds were going to be at this level. Wanted to pass that on for those who didn't know....**back to reading**
