they are interviewing a guy in his attic with an 18 month old baby trapped in Plaquemines parish. I could cry hearing this..
Those reports and calls just give me the chills. It is such a sense of deja vu! That's the most horrifying memories from Katrina listening to the radio after the storm hearing all of these people calling in begging for help watching the water rise.
I'm sorry but people in the southern part of plaquemines parish...ANY parish outside the levee system should have HEEDED the mandatory evacuation orders!

I just keep thinking about all those malfunctions with recon during Ernesto. Something has to be wrong. The models were saying this was going to bomb out at SELA and it did. But that circulation never showed the winds to support it. Any thoughts on whether or not this could be equipment failure? If not for this forum I would have prepared for a TS or CAT 1.

I have been questioning that as well, Nola got some winds that the recon never showed to be in the northern quadrant of the storm.
River Parishes, your wx is going to be going downhill as the day goes on.
Not only the weather, but the water will start coming in...this will test the levee system.
Yes, I am afraid worst is still.to come for my neighborhood. My friends who stayed have been without power for 12 hours & heard major winds howling all nite.
And I think it should be considered criminal to ignore mandatory evacuations with small kids....so sad...
Ive yet to have a hard rain, but weve been getting some good winds and gust here since about 11ish. (Walker area) Watching radar, the bands arent far but never make it. I expect it to get worse once the storm starts the northern part of its treck.

I know. it's just that it seems like we have a hurricane bearing down on us. I was just wondering why they don't adjust the warnings? I guess it doesn't matter at this point. It is what it is.
