Hey guys, and gals.
It has been awhile since I've posted here, but I thought I'd share a game that you might like to play this severe weather season.
You can visit stormchasegame.com to sign up. We've had six sign up thus far, and would like a bunch more. Registration ends soon.

Welcome to the home of the Storm Chase Game. You are a storm chaser and with that your job is to position yourself in a place where you can video, and photograph severe weather. To do so, you’ll need to decide on a “target area” where you think there is the best chance for tornadoes, hail, or damaging winds. This should be done before 1200z on the day of the chase (click this link for help on Zulu time). You will submit this “target area” (either a city or latitude/longitude coordinate) in the “entry” form. There are no restrictions on how many times you change your location prior to 12z. Only when the clock hits 1200z will scoring begin, and then that you are no longer allowed to enter or move locations. At the end of the day, SPC storm reports, NWS damage surveys, maps, and calculators will be used to verify and tally points earned. One hail or damaging wind report regardless of how near or far it falls in a 50 mile radius from your spot gets you 10 points. However, the closer tornadoes are reported to your target area, the more points you will earn. A tornado report within 25-50 miles is worth 15 points, 24-11 gets you 20 points, and anything less than 10 miles is 25 points. Reports outside the scope of these miles will not count. You can chase at anytime, but be careful because if there are no reports within your target area on that day, 10 points will be deducted. Also be mindful, that there will always be a chase day when the Storm Prediction Center issues a Day 2 moderate and/or high risk. You can follow SPC outlooks at this site. Occasionally, there will be XP rewards that can double, or even triple your points. It is important that you check your e-mail for these notifications. This game will be held from March 1st to May 31st and is expected to be a fun, and exciting competition during the severe weather season. Please, sign up before registration ends on February 28th at 12:00 PM.
