I have friends in New Bern, NC. They say that they can't leave because the van they were going to use to transport themselves, and all of their animals, is dead and everyone won't fit in their two compact cars. Latest forecast shows the potential of a TWENTY foot storm surge. Their neighbor is also staying and has convinced them that they will be fine.

They simply can't stay. The neighbor is wrong. They need to do whatever it takes and leave the rest. Tell them to take photos of every room and it's contents, every vehicle, inside and out.

Is it possible to make more than one trip to get everyone out?

I have to charge my phone but i'll be adding information for South Carolina shortly.

Sometimes family members outside of the disaster area will have more information than the victims of the storm. Knowledge is power!
