When you sit around a basement table — sweating in the dark — with members of the National Guard and Margaret Orr — and they're telling you about the bodies they saw floating through the streets you grew up in — that’s when you know it’s real. No one should ever have to get to that point. True story.

If you look at the latest GFS and EURO, they are similar. And the scenario is beyond nuts. Not sure how true this is but just heard Cantori on the Weather Channel say that this could be days or even a week. WTF?

Stunned at what I am seeing both on this site and the graphics on the Weather channel this morning. In all my life, having been in the middle of Betsy as a child, and then numerous other storms here in New Orleans, NEVER have I seen something this bad. This has the potential, IMHO, to do more damage than Katrina. Another possible diaspora and loss of life....

Did the NHC extend watches and warning to include Georgia?
