Chloe, it's okay. Really. Maybe try to name what scares you the most and then be proactive about making preparations in the unlikely event ( in this case) that the fear becomes realized.You can't help how you feel. You are doing a good thing by trying to empower yourself with information. Knowledge really is power, cliche as that may be.

I can't tell you exactly what specific factors caused Katrina to shift course. I could try to recall some specific facts about the high that settled into place, but I don't want to conjecture. Right now, there is an area of low pressure that is clearly present that will pull this sucker north, big as it may be. Some of the finest meteorologists in the world and some of the finest Hurricane Hunters you will find are analyzing data to try to paint an accurate picture of where this may go. The only thing I'm 100% sure of is that we all gonna die one day, but based on the research I have done on this particular storm and looking at the data available, the chances if it coming our way are very slim. Zack had confirmed this earlier.

Keep in mind that The Weather Channel, once a great source of weather information, is focused on garnering the best ratings possible. No offense to anyone, but the meteorologists they present look like LL Bean models. I'll tell you this...........the other night I was watching a segment on the The Weather Channel called "Insane Weather" or something like that, and all the well-known mets at TWC, from Stephanie Abrams to Jim Cantore, are giving these comedic comments on the unfortunate interactions people have had with horrific weather- does that sound like a legitimate weather information source? They like to garner ratings by building as much drama as possible.........hence the New Orleans reference.

I can't say it's not coming here period; that would be inappropriate of me and I am not a meteorologist and again............meteorologists are not fortune-tellers, but the legitimate ones are good at what they do and when Zack says it is highly unlikely............yeah, I believe him and I chill because he has had his feet to the fire with these things. He wrecked his car investigating one once just so that he could have a better understanding of them.

No one can make guarantees, but I can promise you this- you will be in greater danger next week when you get in your car, turn on the engine, and enter one of Louisiana's highways then you ever will be from this storm. I have the auto insurance bill to prove it unfortunately.
