Last year we didn't get our first 'cool' front until the last week in October. Given how hot it's been this year, I'm expecting similar timing this year although I would very much like it to happen sooner!

We went hiking today in the Kisatchie National Forest on the Backbone Trail at 8:47am. Took right at 5 hours for the 10.6 mile hike and we stopped for 30 minutes total on the whole hike. Sure we sweated, but I have to say, I could "feel" fall in the distance LOL. The air was drier and the sound of the wind blowing through the tops of the pine trees sounded SOOOOO nice
Hoping for nights in the 60's the first week of October as we'll be camping in northeast Mississippi.
