GFS develops something in the BOC and landfall in SE Louisiana. I would be shocked if that actually happened. With the exception of Juan, I dont remember ever having a storm here past the 1st week of Oct.

But what an exception Juan was! My Dad flew in a helicopter to survey "down the bayou" around Golden Meadow. It was hard to differentiate where land ended and the bayous, streams, etc. began. He probably still has the video. It was awful for the people and businesses.

I was 9 and in 4th grade. Living just north of Houma. Don't remember much of it but just lots of rain and flooding.

This is the last thing I need, daughters getting married Saturday at the Louisiana Castle in Franklinton, big out door wedding planned, this date was picked 2 years ago, and in October after the 15th due to the month being dry , cool and storm free. This is hard to believe!
Euro has been consistent with a Louisiana hit. But all the other models take it more towards the panhandle. I think it will go east of here since we are already in mid October and we have all these fronts coming every couple days.

I agree with you on that. Also to add the fronts will be producing a lot of shear along the gulf coast that will rip apart anything that may try to get organized. Somebody will probably get some decent rains but unfortunately won’t be us, like you said further East, from a messy sheared weak low.
So are we not worried about the orange in the 5 day?
Depends where you're at. An approaching cold front should keep it sheared and off to the east toward the Florida panhandle. This is from today's 18z GFS. The 00z is rolling out.
