What are you expecting the surge to be in the Grand Isle/Lafitte, LA area? Have a ton of equipment down here on the bayou in lower Lafitte that I will need to move out. So far this year, we have evacuated 3 times and my worry if that if I don’t evacuate a 4th time this will be the time I wish I did.

Delta will enlarge in size in the gulf and the wind field will expand.

Well stated! I live in Metairie but my company is in Lafayette. If our building has any significant damage then my job will be highly affected in a negative way.

I would expect the NHC will show their forecasted storm map coming up in their 10 AM Advisory.

I appreciate the meteorologists here very much but I would love if one or two of the BR mets join us one day as a regular contributor. It would be great to have Steve Caparotta or Jay Grimes here. It would be fun to ask Jay Grimes when he plans on rolling up his sleeves so that I could tell when to expect things to get serious LOL!

On this current track, Lafayette will likely experience the worst wind storm in many, many years. If you're not prepared in Lafayette, New Iberia and surrounding areas, today and tomorrow is your day. Conditions will start going downhill early Friday morning right along the coast.

No disappointment here. I'm perfectly happy to spend my Sunday watching NFL football as opposed to surveying damage and cleaning it up.

That said, we really don't know for sure at this point if said disappointment will actually materialize, do we.

I am never disappointed when we have a huge build-up and then a miss. I have been through several major hurricanes, and I do not relish having to experience another one. My reaction to a miss is to drop to my knees and thank God for being spared. But, de gustibus ...

Definitely adrenaline! I told my husband last night, I’d gladly take this storm, so that our family in Lake Charles & Grand Lake didn’t have to again.
But, I don’t want to seem insensitive towards the SELA and Acadian members at the same time.

No one in Louisiana is out of the woods yet. I just watched Shelby Latino on Fox 8 News and she said not to focus on the center line. She said it's not even in the GOM yet and alot can change in the next 12-24 hours. She said to not to get complacent!

Definitely will not be disappointed if this does not hit near by. After Katrina , these storms scare me. Do not want all the damage that wind and water will do. In Springfield area on a canal off the Tickfaw. Was in Washington parish for K and never want to see anything like that again.
