HURRICANE DELTA Discussion Thread

I spent the day in the hospital today after blacking out WHILE DRIVING in Baton Rouge this morning. Doctors thought I had had a heart attack but after a day of tests, they were able to rule that out. Turned out to be an allergic reaction to something from a procedure I had early this morning.

I’m telling this story to say this: second to my worries for myself and my children, my other thought was “well shit, we finally get what appears to be a hell of a risk for a major hurricane in my part of the world and I’m going to be in the hospital recovering from surgery and won’t be able to watch the weather with my weather-watching five year old buddy!”.

LOL, the crap I worry about!!



I see the center is now forecast to be over Lafayette. It’s interesting that they keep pushing it further west. If it goes there as a category 2, I’m sure we in Ascension Parish will still be clobbered to some extent. My last chance to justify to my wife how much I spent on the new generator and connection set up for the house .

I guess it’s the flatness on the radar skewing the true path but it looks like it’s moving slightly more NW than WNW to me and could only clip it but not as much as the path shows.

No one has any business going down there for any hurricane. Especially Freshwater City. That's a death trap. 

18Z GFS is a little slower but nearly on top of 12Z. The west shift has stopped this run.
