Oh my heavens, the wind on the levee was arguably the most brutal I have ever encountered head-on: I measured gusts of 27.2 mph.
A little off-topic but related, every year in February literally thousands and thousands of robins gather on the levee across from Cooter Brown's for about ten days, and then they are on their way. This year..........no robins at all. Strange.

I'm liking my overall rain chances this week....at least the chances are spread out over several days instead of a thin, discrete line that might miss any particular location.
Is it time for the Spring thread to be opened? Or will we wait for astronomical spring?

We have lots of them here in FL. Perhaps they know about next weekend's cold surge and waiting for it to pass by before their migration north ;)
So I was just on the SPC page to poke around a bit and I noticed that SE Louisiana has yet to be in a severe watch box this year. Unless there's some miniscule shading that my old eyes can't see anymore.

We have some green blades of grass starting to pop through, which is really weird because it just went dormant in January with the late freeze. My Japanese magnolia bushes all have a green leaf or two popping out. The trees are still asleep, though.

Don’t like that it keeps trending colder Saturday. Now showing high of only 53 degrees! Those paddling on bayou Lafourche for St Patrick’s day event will freeze! Guess I need to find green jackets to go over our st Patrick’s day shirt as it looks to be too chilly to leave them even unzipped

Tomorrow looks like a dud. Dry frontal passage for the most part.
Tuesday and especially Wednesday will be the soaking rain we need this week.
