Zack...if this is an easy answer....
Looking at the visible satellite this AM you can see all the moisture streaming NE from the Gulf in the form of clouds......I'm looking at the 2 or 3 waves traveling SE across southern LA.....
Are those just gravity waves resulting in the clouds.....by gravity waves in assuming just a density wave of some sort coalescing the water vapor into clouds?
What is this weather phenomena called? I'm assuming it's a different level in the atmosphere from the moisture streaming NEwards....

Ahhh, the fun of this time of year! As I post this, in the new Spring/Summer thread...the 06z GFS, for Friday night. Of course, within a few days, it will be in the 80's. LOL
There are some VERY weak snow returns showing up on radar in the DFW area, but none of the reporting stations are showing anything. Probably just some flurries flying around.

I'm already in summer mode. Send the cold stuff outta here.
Me too. Was still hoping the weather would hold in the temps we have now for Saturday. St Patrick’s day event on bayou Lafourche. I am not personally paddling and just attending the event but don’t deal with jacket weather very well.
