update: banding together with neighbors to hopefully share food. Who has a functioning well. Who has chainsaws (a couple do and have already cleared some trees away).

Hello, thanks for your concern.
My sister and her family are doing okay. Power was restored to neighborhood. Thank goodness they have a well so have drinkable water. The municipal water in the whole area was out and is being restored very slowly - the water available is at best under a boil order.
Their cell service is still out.
One road to their house was partially washed out but there is another road available.
One problem is that my nephew’s small business is in trouble, as his local clients‘ businesses were heavily damaged or destroyed. He’s a hard worker so pray that he can recover. There are many businesses in his position.

lencast: I am in Jacksonville, and trying to drive back to New Orleans. Does anyone here know if the I-10 is passable in Lake City and Tallahassee. Sept 27, 2024 5:19:03 GMT -6
