My old neighbor in Brooksville, FL is convinced they will be ok and that him and his wife chose not to evacuate. He said that he trust his local weatherman that the storm will go just south of Tampa and Brooksville will only get some rain and tropical force winds and at worse only lose power.

I hope he's right. Can anyone enlighten me and make me feel better about the Brooksville/springhill area?

What local weatherman is he watching? My need station is based in Tampa Bay and I haven’t heard anything quite like that.

They did say they are expecting the track to shift a little south on the next update, but not much.

Wobbles gonna wobble. That said, this is not exactly an insignificant southward shift, right? Searching for a more zoomed in TVCN... And yes, it can't be stated enough that the cone is what matters, not the center line. But, in seeking out trends, the center line is helpful.
