I know it is looking worse for NO, so sorry, but for here in swla, it is looking better??
I sort of had the same question. I know that we are in a Hurricane Watch/Trop Storm Warning here in Vermilion Parish, but I was wondering if things are looking better for us or not. I understand that Isaac may move westerly after landfall - how far west and for how long? Anyone have any idea? Thanks in advance
Not a professional forecast by any means and should not be viewed as such - just my opinion. Audrey'57, Carla'61 Hilda'64, Betsy'65, Edith'71, Carmen'74, Danny'85, Juan'85, Andrew'92, Iniki'92 (while on vacation in Kauai), Lili'02, Rita'05, Gustav'08, Ike'08, No-Name'16, Harvey'17, Barry'19, Laura'20, Delta'20, Ida'21.
AGH....it makes me so mad that the BILLIONS of tax dollars spent to protect ONE parish will force water into another parish.
Isaac's trajectory could push water up the Barataria Basin. JP's WB levee and the wall of shame across Hwy 90 between Avondale and Luling will force storm storm into the west bank of St. Charles.
It just makes me sick.
We are home to 53,000 residents. The nuclear power plant to provide power to NOLA and lots of petrochemical plants.
But we don't rank to get federal funding for levees.
THANK GOD Isaac isn't a 5. Maybe I'll get by with only 3-5' of water.

Based on the latest projections, can anyone tell me how close St.Chares parish will be to the eye wall? Is it supposed to be right over us or to the west or east?
