OFFICIAL gust forecasts is 115mph. Yes, forecast intensity right now is Cat 1, but those gusts are Cat 3. If everything comes together like models are suggesting, especially the quick strengthening JUST before landfall, it will be a VERY nasty night tomorrow night.
Same in Galliano...hurricane conditions and likely an eyewall experience.
Not a dumb question. CDO = "Central Dense Overcast". It's that large blob of convection in a hurricane where the eye is located in its center.
That CDO is where the hurricane gusts will be and as you get closer to the eye is where sustained hurricane winds will be. If you get in the eyewall, that's where you'll experience the full fury of what ever he has to offer.
