Looks like it weakens as it gets closer to landfall- so not a strengthening storm at landfall so that’s better. Still have surge concerns I guess. If 6z shows the same, NOLA going to defcon 2.

It does show some quick weakening but a Cat 3 or 4 in the central Gulf aiming right for you hoping for weakening.🤦🏻‍♂️

The spaghetti models are so tightly clustered. Not much spread up until landfall. Probably the first time this year they've been so close to one another this far out.

Not sure if it was posted but the 00z global and hurricane model plots are even more tightly confined over nola than the 18z with the 2 outliers to the east. This will get interesting, and am praying for all those who will eventually be in her path

You all can fact check me and correct if wrong. I believe the track when Laura was near Hispaniola verified to within 0.6 miles on the LA coast!. Around five days out. That’s just stunning. I don’t like what I see tonight.

GFS nailed track and intensity with Laura first IMO. Now it wasn’t 6-7 days out but more so caught on around days 3-4.
