You’re ~60 miles inland, I’m not surprised you didn’t see strong winds like they did from I-10 southward to the coast.

don't mean to sound actually disappointed. I'm extremely glad. I'm just amazed at the rain and feeling extremely fortunate that the winds didn't hit as expected.

I usually just read, but I’m wondering what time the wind will die down so I can relax enough to go to sleep. I’m in Denham Springs and it is really blowing hard, I don’t have anything to measure it but I’ve heard several solid thumps on my roof so I know I’ve got some branches coming down. but the wind has gotten pretty scary in the last hour, not gonna lie. how long do you think it’ll last in my area?

You're getting gusts in the 50mph range. The last of the bands is moving through your area right now. It shouldn't get any worse than what it is right now, and everything should start to really subside in the next couple hours or so.

There are at least 3 coastal stations not working. Patterson is one of them. But Berwick is gusting to 43mph and New Iberia to 54mph so you're probably like right in between.

LoL. It's the Wedell-Williams airport. It's used mainly for companies and private planes. Just about every flight path goes right over my house. It used to report weather conditions a couple years ago.

I believe it! It's been steady all day. I expect we will be out of the TS force wind field in the next couple hours.
